Axel Blom

Axel Blom is the founder and owner of Norway Connect Ltd. offering business advisory services in Asia as well as business and board representation in Thailand. Norway Connect Ltd. currently represents several major Norwegian-related companies in Thailand.

Axel is also the owner of Pacific 2000 Recruitment Co., Ltd. and in addition, he is Asian Insiders‘ Managing Partner for Thailand.

Axel is the past Country Representative for Innovation Norway and in this capacity, he was instrumental in opening Myanmar to Norwegian business.

Blue Business Solutions Ltd., the operating company of the Norway Connect network, won two public bids (in 2009 and 2013) to represent Innovation Norway, the Norwegian Government’s support organisation for Trade and Industry. In this capacity Axel served as the Norwegian government’s designated trade representative for Thailand and later also including Myanmar. Blue Business Solutions Ltd. was merged into Norway Connect Ltd. in 2024.

Axel is Norwegian and has his background from aviation. He has worked in the region for more than 30 years. Prior to setting up Blue Business Solutions Ltd., he was Director and General Manager for Scandinavian Airlines in Thailand and the surrounding countries. His staff responsibility covered more than 100 SAS employees including two units outsourced from the corporate headquarters in Stockholm, one flight-safety related unit and another administrative unit globally responsible for part of SAS’s loyalty programme EuroBonus.

Axel sits on the board of several companies and in addition, he is the current President and past President of the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce. Axel is also the past Chairman of the Executive Committee and one of the founders of the Board of Airline Representatives in Thailand, an organisation representing the airlines’ interests in Thailand.

Axel holds a Master degree in Business Administration (awarded with Distinction) specialising in Business Process Reengineering and Advanced Marketing from University of Leicester, UK.
